Designers’ Approved Fashion Trends for 2018 to Begin the Next Year With

So 2018 is almost here and we couldn’t be happier! We’re sure that your New Year party dress is all ready, ironed and folded safely in the closet but are you ready for what comes after the New Year’s Eve? Well if not, we have got your list of Indian dresses ready for what’s going to be “in” the coming year because surely you would not want to start the year with a fashion faux pas?

So spare 3 minutes of your time and read on to find out what should you be making room for in your closet this year.

Capes

CapesYes capes are still in and hot as ever! Capes have seen a major comeback in current trends after what seems like a really long time and they’re here to stay. These are especially in for fall 2018 so you have many ways to rock this style and be warm as well. Style your usual salwar suits and lehenga cholis with an add-on cape in similar fabric. You can glam up your sarees as well with an embellished cape or poncho in warm fabrics so it looks stylish while keeping you hot on those chilly winter nights.

Front Slit Salwar Suits

Front Slit Salwar SuitsWith long floor length silhouettes grabbing great attention this year, these are definitely going forward to 2018 as well. Along with long length, long slit kurtas have seen tremendous fandom as well. Big celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone have been seen embracing this style, in turn making it a hot favorite amongst masses. These front slit long kurtas can be worn with everything; palazzos, salwars, churidars, pants et cetera. With Indo Western dresses also getting a hype lately, these slit kurtas are also styled with denims for a casual look.

Cold Shoulders

Cold ShouldersIf you are a fashion freak then you cannot be unaware of this very popular feature that has seen a major fan following in 2017. Shoulder cut outs or cold shoulders are basically a cut out in your usual sleeves to expose the shoulder edges. We are definitely thanking whoever came up with this very cool idea to feel sexy without showing much skin. These are not just very glamorous but can easily be incorporated into any style be it Western or Indian. Take your old suits, cholis and saree blouses, cut out a portion off the arm and voila! You have an all new outfit that is trendy and sensuous at the same time.

Waist-belts

Waist-beltsMight sound a little strange and unheard of, but waist-belts have apparently become a hot add-on lately. Seen first in the collections of Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, this minimal accessory has gotten a lot of attention after being almost considered unusable in women’s attires, let alone the Indian styles! You will be surprised by how sassy your outfit can become with just an embellished belt. Best suited with salwar kameez, belts are also being experimented with sheer sarees.

Jackets

JacketsWe have already talked about long salwar kameez with high front slits. If you are not in for that, get yourself some fancy jackets and pair with your floor touching anarkali suits and abayas. We love the idea of a plain gown style long suit with a heavy embellished vest jacket as seen in designer Andu Modi’s 2017 fall collections. These are gorgeous are so stylish that will make those jaws drop! Not just vest jackets, but you can also pair your usual straight cut salwar suits with a full length jacket. This is a perfect and absolutely stunning replacement for the traditional dupattas.

While these are just some forecasts that have been taken from the runways, there are always trends that keep changing overnight. We’ll keep you updated on more. Do you want to tell us of any other trends that are going to be in trend in 2018? Let us know in the comments.
